Years 7 & 8 Curriculum

Years 7 & 8

Transition from primary school to secondary college is an exciting and challenging part of any student's life. At Catholic Ladies' College we offer an innovative curriculum which assists this shift. Interdisciplinary studies aims to foster links in student learning, whilst maintaining the integrity of individual subjects. Students belong to a Homeroom and the Homeroom teacher teaches :

  • English
  • Religious Education
  • History
  • Geography

Year 7 Class

Students spend fourteen, 75 minute periods per ten day cycle in the group as well as 15 minutes per day pastoral contact. This frequent contact enhances the relationship between teacher and student. Problems are more easily identified and managed and students are happy, secure and quickly settled.

All Year 8 students participate in an integrated curriculum unit: City Experience. They also have an opportunity to study the new subjects: Drama and Food, Systems and Materials Technology.
