Student Services aims to foster student achievement, decision making
and emotional well-being. Student Services has three components Special
Education, Counselling and Careers.
Special Education Teacher
The Special Education Teacher is involved in assessing all incoming
students, supporting students in the mainstream classroom and liaising
with staff to ensure that the needs of all students are being met
within the context of the resources available. Support is available
mainly in English and Mathematics in the Junior level of the school.
Counselling
Students may experience social, emotional or personal difficulties
which interfere with their level of involvement or achievement at
school. The Counsellor aims to assist in the resolution of these difficulties.
Careers
The Careers department focuses on assisting students to make skilled,
critical and informed decisions about school and post-school options,
decisions that reflect their personal interests, abilities and values
and to develop knowledge and skills required for successful transition
from school to work and/or further study.
