Sport at CLC
Sport is an important component of a students' overall development.
At Catholic Ladies' College sport is divided into two main categories:
Inter-school sport and Inter-house sport.
Interschool Competition
Catholic Ladies' College competes in the Secondary Catholic Sports
Association competitions. As a result we participate in a wide range
of sporting activities against 26 other Catholic schools throughout
the year. These sporting pursuits are spread out evenly across the
calendar. The competitions we enter include athletes, swimming, tennis, volleyball, softball, basketball, netball, soccer and cross-country
running. Other sporting teams fielded have been skiing and equestrian.

National Basketball Champions
Catholic Ladies' College have been the Victorian Intermediate McDonalds
Championship School for two years in a row. Under the management of
Sports Coordinator MrsDebbie O'Neill and coached by ex-student Rachael Croall
(Australian Young Business Woman on the Year 1999) the team won the National Basketball
McDonalds Championships for the past few years.
Leadership
The Sports Captain is ably assisted by a Vice Captain. Twenty girls
have taken on the student leadership roles of House Captains. House
Sport Competitions are based on the College's four houses and involves
every student. Marita - blue, Aikenhead - green, Loyola - gold, and
Vincentia - Red. Major annual carnivals are held each year in athletics
and swimming. Lunchtime borrowing and activities are organised by
the house captains. Indoor soccer, volleyball, pataka and basketball
are a few examples of such competitions.
